What is ProPlay? it’s a song promotion and research service that inserts your song into the internet radio playlists of Promusic.fm listeners and plays it adjacent to more established artists. But when your song plays, a big pop-up survey appears offering the listener the opportunity to become a fan, rate your song, answer a few questions you can customize, leave a comment, opt-in to follow you on twitter, share on Facebook, buy your song, and use your song in their new online social game, The Music Promoter Game.
This is where things get really wild. Sort of like “Pandora meets Farmville”. Instead of buying cows, you’re given virtual currency to create your own animated festival featuring the music of the ProPlay artists you’ve become a fan of.
You start off as a Part Time Promoter and the more you progress through the game, you get elevated to Full Time Promoter and then to Big Time Promoter. This is all based on how many of theses festivals you create combined with the number of other people you’ve invited to watch and listen.
This is one of the very few social games that actually provides a real benefit to the ProPlay artist since a major part of the game is real online promotion. The player also has the opportunity to win prizes as they progress through the game so it’s a win-win for both artist and player.
